Strings in an Hour
Go from never holding a violin to playing as one orchestra in under an hour.

About
In Strings in an Hour, your team learns to play as a string orchestra in less than one hour.
The session opens with the instructors performing a piece for the group. Uplifted and inspired, participants are then told that they will soon be playing together themselves.
Disbelief quickly turns to intrigue as the instructors hand each person a classical string instrument, either a violin or a viola. Participants are guided through practical lessons on the basics of playing, then learn their own part for the final composition.
Finally, with the support of a specially created backing track, the two sections come together to make beautiful music. It is a moment of real surprise and pride, as a room full of beginners discovers it can sound like an orchestra.
Learning outcomes
Strings in an Hour harnesses the power of music to bond teams and achieve the seemingly impossible. It also shows how quickly people can learn when they feel supported.
Most people could not learn to play an instrument in under an hour on their own. As a group, with the right guidance and everyone focused on one common goal, it becomes possible.
Each section has to listen to the other and stay in time, which builds empathy, courage and focused attention in a way that feels natural rather than forced.
Making music together creates feelings of elation and positive thinking, giving the team an uplifting, memorable experience. The shared performance becomes a story the group will tell for years, and a reminder of what they can do together.
