Hotel Dash
A fast checkpoint race without leaving the hotel.

Conference days that lose the room
Sound familiar?
- “By the afternoon nobody is listening anymore.”
- “People only talk to colleagues they already know.”
- “Off-site activities eat half the agenda in travel time.”
The Experience
Hotel Dash turns your conference hotel into a race course. There are no coaches to book and no weather risk, and the group is back in the ballroom on time. It is a fast, fun way to restart energy in the middle of a long meeting day, or to open an evening program.
Checkpoints run in a fixed order through the lobby, terraces, meeting rooms and restaurants, agreed with the hotel in advance. At each one, teams solve a quick task to reveal the next location: a puzzle, a photo challenge or a question about your company. Accuracy scores as well as speed, so careful teams can beat fast ones.
The race ends in the main room with a live results show and photos from the run. Up to four hundred guests can play, starting in waves, and a forty-five minute version works as a conference energiser. We run it in any conference hotel or resort in our three regions.
Questions can feature your own products, values or event theme.
The Takeaways
A short burst of movement and teamwork resets attention in a long conference day. People come back to the sessions awake, talking and ready to listen, which makes the afternoon program far more productive than another hour in the same chair.
Teams must decide quickly who does what at each checkpoint. Without time for long discussions, they show how they organise under pressure: who takes charge, who checks the details and who keeps everyone moving. These patterns are easy to spot and fun to talk about afterwards.
Mixed teams meet colleagues from other departments and offices in a relaxed setting, which makes the rest of the event more open. In the two-question debrief, teams name what helped them organise fast and one way to bring that speed to their next project.
Hotel Dash also helps event planners. It keeps the group together and on schedule, uses spaces you already pay for, and gives photographers a burst of natural, happy moments to capture in the middle of a busy agenda.
Program flow
-
Start · 0–10 min
Teams gather in the ballroom and receive their first checkpoint card and a map of the hotel areas in play. The host explains the rules: checkpoints come in a fixed order, accuracy scores as well as speed, and quiet areas stay quiet.
-
First checkpoints · 10–35 min
Teams move through the lobby, terraces and restaurants. At each stop they solve a quick task, a puzzle, a photo challenge or a question about your company, to reveal the next location. Teams quickly learn to split roles: one reads, one solves, one checks.
-
Second half · 35–60 min
The checkpoints move into your meeting rooms and the hotel's hidden corners. Tasks get harder and some need the whole team, so organisation matters more than speed. Facilitators record times and accuracy at every stop.
-
Final run · 60–75 min
The last checkpoints bring teams back toward the main room as the clock runs down. Careful teams can still overtake fast ones, because every wrong answer costs time.
-
Results show · 75–90 min
A live results show reveals the winners with photos from the race. The host closes with two quick debrief questions on how teams organised under pressure, and the group goes straight back into the program with fresh energy.
The game ends. The learning starts.
