Samba Rhythm Circle
Turn your whole group into one giant samba band.

About
Samba Rhythm Circle is one of the most exhilarating team activities there is. Using the infectious rhythms of samba, it turns any group into one giant band, where every person plays their own part, at the right moment and on cue.
It starts in small groups led by professional musicians, who teach the basics of samba beats and breaks. After a few rhythm-based warm-ups, groups move quickly onto real percussion instruments, with each group learning a different instrument and rhythm.
As confidence grows and the playing tightens, the groups come together to prepare a spectacular, thundering grand finale.
Everyone takes part. Even the shyest people are soon grinning as they stamp, clap, sway and drum alongside their colleagues, and the room discovers what a team can do when it moves to the same beat.
Learning outcomes
Creating a great samba finale relies on many layers working side by side, much like the structure of a company. Each instrument group has its own rhythm, yet the music only works when every part fits together.
The activity shows the value of shared standards and timing in achieving excellence consistently. When each person and each group fulfils their role, the whole band succeeds, producing a result far bigger than the sum of individual efforts.
Playing in front of colleagues builds courage and confidence, while the focus needed to stay on the beat creates a genuine sense of mindfulness and presence in the room.
For groups that want to go further, the experience can grow into a community project, such as a sponsored samba band that plays for a local children's hospital ward or care home, sharing the energy with others.
