Sky Pilot Obstacle Run
Plan, practise and fly a drone through a course your team builds itself.

About
Sky Pilot Obstacle Run is a flexible, tech-driven team challenge. Teams must guide a drone carefully through eight human-made obstacles, from take-off all the way to landing on the launch pad.
Teams begin by studying eight obstacle cards, each showing a complex formation. Together they analyse the cards and plan their choreography: who moves where, when, and who does what.
Every person gets a turn at flying the drone. Teams practise and refine their moves, finding faster and smarter ways to form each obstacle, before taking part in the final timed race.
The winning team is the one that involves every player and coordinates its movements with the most speed and precision. Along the way, teams discover just how much precision and communication it takes to keep a drone steady while everyone else is moving around it.
Learning outcomes
Sky Pilot Obstacle Run is a fun and inventive way to develop teams through technology. During practice, teams look for the most efficient ways to move and position themselves to save precious seconds in the final run.
Choreographing and reinventing the obstacles calls for innovative thinking and often leads to real breakthroughs. Roles keep changing, so every person has to adapt constantly, a perfect metaphor for agile teamwork.
Although it feels playful, the activity is a complex exercise in strategic planning that involves everyone without putting anyone on the spot.
Added time pressure keeps the atmosphere competitive but safe, giving teams space to explore how they work together and reinforce positive habits of trust and communication. Every person flies at least once, so quieter team members get a moment in the spotlight, and the whole team learns to give clear, calm instructions to whoever is at the controls.
