About
Grand Monument Build is an innovative and fun team activity. Each team receives equipment, tools and detailed construction plans, and is tasked with turning a self-assembly kit into a large 3D structure.
Once each team’s structure is built, teams decorate it with slogans and colour. The design can reinforce your brand message, a conference theme or a charity of your choice, and bespoke stickers can be added once the sections are combined.
Each team’s decoration should work as part of one uniform design, because the challenge continues as a whole-group activity. Teams agree on colours and themes early so the finished sections line up perfectly.
In the finale, all teams come together to assemble one gigantic monument from every team’s piece, a towering reminder of what the group has achieved together.
Learning outcomes
This popular activity starts with a 'me focus', as participants work on their own part of the build. Resource management and quality control are essential to produce the basic building blocks on time and to a consistently high standard.
A 'team focus' follows, as individuals come together in an interactive problem-solving exercise to create the next stage of building blocks.
Then a 'whole group focus' is needed to reach the common goal of combining every element into one cohesive monument. Problem-solving skills are needed to build a series of shapes and join them together, like a giant 3D jigsaw.
Your company message is reinforced instantly as it becomes part of the final construction, standing tall as a reminder of the power of working towards a common goal.
