About

Golf has long been a popular sport for business networking, whether on the fairway or in the conference room. Mini Golf Makers turns it into a fun, engaging mini version that lets everyone get involved in a meaningful way.

Teams design and build a challenging mini golf course, which they then play in a competitive and fun tournament.

Courses are built from the materials provided, mainly canned and dry food items. The challenge is that every hole must be fun, challenging and conceptually different from the rest. Each team also designs and builds its own putter, which it uses in the final tournament as players tackle each hole and keep score.

After the event, all the food is donated to your chosen local charity. Participants can bring food along for the donation, or the goods can be provided to match your giving budget.

Learning outcomes

Mini Golf Makers is a high-energy activity where everyone gets involved, from answering challenging questions and creative design to building the course and having a go on the green.

Creativity and ingenuity are sparked as teams look for clever ways to turn everyday food items into tricky obstacles. Stacked cans become ramps, boxes become tunnels and packets become walls, each obstacle more inventive than the last.

Communication and project management skills come into play as teams design their course, share out the work and make sure every hole is ready in time.

Most of all, participants have fun and feel great about giving. Knowing that every can and packet will go to people who need it adds real meaning to the day, and leaves teams proud of what they achieved together.
